EQUITY TASK FORCE

Purpose:    The goals of the task force are to achieve solutions to address the legacy of structural and systemic racism in the City of Albion and to provide recommendations on City of Albion policies and procedures to ensure racial equity is a core element of organization practices in the City of Albion
  
Establishment:    Pursuant to Section 5.7 of the Albion City Charter, there is created a citizen advisory board to be known as the “City of Albion Equity Task Force”
    
Membership:    The City of Albion Equity Task Force shall consist of seven (7) members
    
Meetings:    The City of Albion Equity Task Force shall meet as necessary at the call of the chair and shall adopt, by a majority rule, such rules as it shall deem expedient for the conduct of its business. It shall elect a secretary and such other officers as it shall deem necessary. It shall hold its meetings at City of Albion City Hall. Meetings of the City of Albion Equity Task Force shall be open to the public and held in accordance with the Michigan Open Meetings Act
    
Residency:    No residency requirement
    
Term:   Commencing December 2, 2022, three (3) of the seven (7) members shall have initial one (1) year terms and four (4) of the seven (7) members shall have initial two (2) year terms. Appointments to all seven (7) member seats following the initial term shall be for two (2) year terms.
