ALBION HOUSING COMMISSION

   
Purpose:    To provide decent, safe and sanitary housing for low to moderate-income residents of the City of Albion.
    
Establishment:    The Housing Commission takes its shape from both statute and ordinance.  MCL Section 125.651, et seq, provides the authority for local government to create housing commissions.  The five-member commission is appointed by the Mayor of the City.  No residency requirement is made by the statute.  (Residency not required.)
    
Membership:    Five voting members plus the Executive Director.  Members appointed by Mayor.
    
Residency:    At the discretion of the appointing authority.
    
Term:    Five years.
    
Meetings:    3rd Tuesday of the month at 11:00 a.m.
